The combination of copper and titanium allow this light colored version of a superconductor material to be used in the formation of this band. The material is made up of titanium-nobium rods insulated by copper and formed into a large cable which is then sliced at an angle and made into a ring, in this case with a carbon-fiber sleeve insert inside the ring.
