Our Story

Fourth Generation Jewelers

Beginning in 1924,  and continuing the legacy begun by George Finley Sr., our family has been offering Californians fine jewelry and expert jewelry repair services. Among the first gemologists, George Sr., along with the father of Gemology, Robert Shipley, and other Southern California jewelers met on the Campus of U.S.C. to adopt gem ID principals and discuss how to bring that learning to the masses. These meetings resulted in the formation of the American Gem Society as well as the Gemological Institute of America. Continuing the tradition that knowledge serves, Vintage Jewelers & Gifts opened in March of 1992 as Windsor’s only full service jewelry store. Family owned and operated by Thomas, Carol Thielman, and Brendan Thielman. Vintage Jewelers & Gifts offers a broad selection of new jewelry, vintage jewelry, diamond jewelry, loose diamonds, plus a high level of services such as jewelry repairs, restorations, watch repair, bead and pearl restringing, written appraisals, custom design using state of the art cad/cam (rendering to finish) and personalized service.

This is enhanced by Tom’s 40 years in the jewelry business and Carol’s lifelong commitment to a family jewelry legacy. Our level of expertise and depth of knowledge is unsurpassed in Sonoma County. Vintage Jewelers & Gifts, in the same location since 1992, also offers an extensive selection of jewelry.

Since fine jewelry is our main focus, we are proud to offer both contemporary and classic designs, with estate jewelry a major part of our inventory. Victorian, art nouveau and Edwardian period jewelry all carry a presence with us. Here at Vintage Jewelers & Gifts, as estate buyers we are always on the lookout for period pieces. This also dovetails with our position as jewelry estate buyers. The next time you're in Sonoma County stop by and visit us at Vintage Jewelers & Gifts in the Raley’s Lakewood Shopping Center in Windsor.
