U.S. Half Eagle Liberty gold coin and diamond 14k ring

This large, bold & heavy 14 karat yellow gold estate ring showcases a beautiful piece of American history.  It is bezel set with a gleaming U.S. 1/2 eagle, 1901 $5.00 Liberty head 21.6 karat, 90% pure gold coin.  The coin features a beautiful design created by Mint Chief Engraver James B. Longacre. It shows a left facing Lady Liberty Head wearing a coronet. The word "Liberty" can be seen inscribed along the cornet.  The reverse depicts an American Eagle behind a shield as it holds an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left.  The eagle is only slightly visible in the ring since it is on the under side and is partially covered by the sturdy structure of the mounting. The coin is surrounded by a bezel of 26 round brilliant cut SI quality diamonds, which measure an average 1.6 mm in diameter for an actual total weight of .50 carats.  The diameter of the ring top is 27 mm (1.06"), while the back of the shank tapers down to 5.1 mm.
